. This is just a really spectacular place to hit the river (Jump-off Canyon). The route that Hank and Jack set up to get there from camp is very pleasant. On Friday afternoon we didn't see anyone on the river, but today we spotted rafters and kayakers. The rafters initially took out on the south side, so I hustled over to talk with them to see if it was anyone we know (nope). They were about to enter the more serious rapids and wanted to have a look first. They put back in and headed over to the north shore and took out again. They could walk further downstream on the inside bend and get a better look. Randal and I were headed back to the Blackjack Wash intersection when we saw 5 kayaks approaching. Waved at them and got some pictures as they headed for the rapids. Guess it gets a little exciting just downstream from here.
