| partners | | Is it possible to get frostbite in Arizona in July at 1-2pm at 50 degrees? Probably ridiculous overkill on that question. Yet hours of level to downhill hiking in the rain sure had me wondering.
The hike up Inner Basin Trail #29 was pleasant. We took the Waterline Trail #146 ( sweet in Autumn ) over to the Bear Jaw - Abineau Loop. On the way down Bear Jaw #26 a slow moving rainstorm got underway. Unfortunately the guys didn't get to see the best this loop has to offer. Heading back we all got pretty cold. Despite a rain hat and jacket I didn't protect my hands. There was no feeling from the wrist to fingertips for what seemed like forever... an hour, two tops.
It sure is nice to escape the frying pan in the valley. However if ever I should perish in the cold, please drag me to the frying pan so I can rest in peace! |
