Three day solo backpacking trip along the U-Bar for me. Started at the southern end of the U-Bar, where it joins the Barbershop. Detoured over to Buck Springs for a look around and then hiked to Dane Spring for 1st night's camp. Dane Spring is running at about 4 gallons a minute. Saw a few elk on the way in. Ambled over to Barbershop Canyon for 2nd night. Great little campsite right by Barbershop Creek. If you have ever hiked the U-Bar you know exactly where I mean. Full moon and a lonely bull elk bugling from the west canyon rim all night made for fun but little sleep. Doubled back to the trail head on the 3rd morning. Weather was fantastic and the Rim is really gorgeous this time of the year.
