| partners | | This is definitely one of my favorite hikes in the front range! The trip up Pontotac Ridge is awesome! This year I mixed it up some by going up the Pontatoc Ridge Trail instead of the Canyon. Then we went down Finger Rock instead of Ventana.
We were done with our goal peak which is the best one in the Mount Kimball area and we bushwhacked to the Finger Rock Trail. I see Gary studying his GPS and then he says that we have to bag Mt Kimball too because we're just too close. At that point my GPS was showing some stellar AEG numbers so I was thinking "no way!". But somehow Gary had us up on the peak in no time. I need to have some of what he's eating/drinking as he's supposed to be the 'tired old man' but instead he hiked us 30-somethings into the ground!
One of the newbies brought an entire bag of oranges and duct taped his shoes since we were bushwhacking, so be sure to check out the photos... |
