On a previous trip up to 5057, Mike and I spotted Peak 3915 because it is very unusual compared to what surrounds it. The rock is similar to what you see on top of Battleship, but this is on the flanks of 5057 and is surrounded by cliffs on three sides. It is visible early on as you head up Hieroglyphic, just look for the green rocks and cliffs!

I approached via Party Central to the Balancing Rock, which was a different route than we had taken before. Once above that I was back on a more familiar path up to near Peak 3845. I continued up to the head of the canyon then skirted across on a fairly decent path and dropped back down towards 3915.

You'll see in the pictures why this place is so cool. Walking out on the rocks is fun, but you quickly realize how high and steep they are. They are like a maze too because you can't always get across to the next one because of the deep trenchs between them. Lots of undercut, eroded rocks too I found out so you have to be careful! And a lot of perfect spots for deer and other animals to bed down and you could see where some had. I came back roughly the same way.

This was really a fun hike even with some off-trail work. The whole area above the Balancing Rock is cool and 3915 was icing on the cake for sure! I will go back when I have more time to explore!
