Thursdays are my days to work the Peralta TH as my Volunteer duties with the Forest Service. After cleaning up the TH area, I grabbed my pack, camera and my brush cutters and headed for the saddle. A trip to Fremont Saddle isn't complete unless I continue on to the lone Pinon tree out on the point, so away I went.

Beautiful day, lots of sun with only a couple stray clouds drifting behind Weavers Needle and no other hikers to be seen or heard, but that wouldn't last too long. Back at the saddle, I got the cutters to work clearing Catsclaw, Prickly Pear, Agave spears, Wild Holly and other plants that were encroaching on the trail as I worked my way back down.

I scolded one large group of 22 hikers about the group size limits of 15 persons max and creating "short cuts" on the switchbacks [-X I continued on for about 1/2 mile of continuous clearing then switched modes to hitting the heaviest stuff back to the parking lot. Next Thursday I'll head back up to the balancing rock and take up where I left off working my way back down again.

Had lots of blood showing from the Catsclaw but it feels good to get even for a change :) The plants are sure growing thick along the trails, going to be a busy year clearing trails.

It's great to hear the water flowing between the rocks.

Water was flowing into the "bottomless" pool, sounds cool :)

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip.
