So I grabbed my camera and headed up to the top of one of the close-by hill tops, set up the tri-pod and snapped a couple shots with Weavers Needle showing in the background.
Later that afternoon as I was just about to call it a day and leave, Angela (Tibber), Ambika (desertgirl), Suz (Suzaz) and four of their friends approached the Trailhead as they were finishing their Canyon Lake to First Water TH hike. Well, I had to stick around as they discussed the highlights of the hike while consuming some cold libations and salty snacks. pretty soon a rider came through the gate with a second mule following and for a short time joined in the discussions. Meanwhile Suz seized the opportunity to make friends with Mary, the riderless mule, by offering her some cinnamon flavored apple slices which she readily accepted
Gotta say that it was a busy day at First Water but there's never a dull day |
