This popular, four trail loop has over 40 triplogs on HAZ, so there’s not much new dialog to add.

It was fun and a good workout, plus the scenery made it an excellent hike to try out a new camera I’m thinking of buying. For a pocket camera, it has a big zoom (optically & then more digitally), so I proceeded to take 220 photos, using every ‘setting’ I could find.
Be happy - I did not post all of them. :)
All you camera/photo experts feel free to comment/review the photo quality. I know I’m the ‘weak-link’, as the camera itself can do wonders, for such a tiny pocket type. There’s a big learning curve coming up If I buy it.

Even before getting to Peralta TH, I tested the camera on fauna. A few Longhorn cattle were standing guard on Peralta Road and wouldn’t let us pass until we engaged in their favorite game of “Who can stare at each other the longest?” I lost, of course, but they let us pass anyway.

We started early, up Bluff Spring Tr and ended late, down Peralta Tr. Alot of stops due to my many (many) photos.
I have a few photos of the rock that the two Peralta brothers etched their names in, 160 years ago, plus I have a 160 year old historical photo of ‘them’, just after they did their etching. (The two brothers look faintly familiar) :)
I’m sure the brothers would be unhappy to learn their ‘Peralta’ rock etching is actually on a trail “Not” called Peralta.

By default, this hike highlights Weavers Needle, as it’s in plain view most of the time. Since it looks different all through the loop, the view never gets old.
The desert looks very green and healthy and contrasted well with the very blue sky.

Enjoy the photos.
