| no partners | | For over thirty years we've been feeding the LBBs (little brown birds) in our yard. This is one of the best avian singles bar in the valley. It also brings in birds of prey. This tends to make the LBBs a tad flighty. For years all the hawks have swooped down from high above and this allows for LBB escape. About a year ago I saw a Sharp shined hawk coming over the front wall of the neighbor behind us and drop down. It then shot straight up and straight down our back wall blindly hitting the feeding LBBs. It had a nano second from clearing the wall to choosing a target 10 feet away taking the LBBs totally by surprise. |
