| no partners | | This was the Déjà vu hike because I haven't been up the Bluff Springs Trail since the early 90's. When I took several of my sons along on a hike. Using nothing but a map and compass to find our way. I can remember meeting another dad with one of his kids, he had a map. And I asked him do you have a compass to go with that map. And he replied, no I don't. My comment to him was that was like having a gun with no bullets. And he turned around and headed back to the Peralta Trail Head.
On this trip we did not even go all the way to the Terrapin trail junction, the goal to see the back side of Geronimo's Bluff (knob) and take some photos was met. And we will be back up here again to take some more pictures of the hoodoos that seem to define this area.
So we headed back to the infamous Cave Trail and headed up. I only went as far as the top of the cliff, while my sons and a friend went up to the Cave. I wanted to take some long range telephoto shots of then going up the Bald Mans Forehead and Devils slide. And after they came back down we headed on down the trail to the car and something cold to drink. |
