Was a great day to do the Ridgeline for the first time! Dropped a car off at Carney Springs and drove back to Lost Dutchman SP. We were on the trail by 6:40 am and made it up to the Flatiron saddle by 8. I'm glad we started early as it got warm the last few hours of the hike. After that strenuous but awesome part of the trek we set off into unfamiliar territory from the saddle up to Peak 5057. I have hiked the Flatiron countless times and hiked from Carney TH to 5057 a few months ago, which helped immensely with not getting lost! Route-finding was easy -- the only section that I'm thinking there was a better route to was to 5057. After reaching the saddle just below 5057, we did some class III scrambling, and then circled around to the north east side of the peak, and then climbed it from the east, backtracking a little bit. It looked like there was a more direct route to 5057, which I will have to try to figure out sometime. As if 6 hours of hiking a decent pace wasn't enough, once we hit the flat part of the carney trail we decided to jog the last half mile, complete with a 50 yard dash sprint finish to crown a hike champion.
