Perfect day for the Ridgeline. Winds from the north made the air crystal clear. 100 mile+ visibility.

Lovely day for my favorite day hike. Nice string of pools in the bottom of W. Boulder Creek. Water in the little stream that you cross as you work your way toward Superstition Mtn. from Carney. The rain last weekend has the wild flowers beginning to come out. Lots of nice purple hedgehog cactus blooming all along the top. Swallows buzzing me almost the entire way. Nearly knocked off my hat a couple times. Canyon wren calls echoing all along. Took a 45 minute break for lunch. Removed boots and socks and basked in the sun. There is a nice moss growing up on the flat (sphagnum?) and I could actually walk bare-foot in the desert without picking up thorns. Put on a fresh pair of socks for the last 4-5 miles. What luxury! What decadence! Like bolting on a new pair of feet. Glad to get up there this spring before the heat sets in.
