Ok so I unfortunately had to take a better job and more pay in the valley sooooo here I am back in AZ after a three year stint in Utah. I'm already missing the easy access to the mountains and the high elevation alpine environment.

Did this once before but only up to Boulder flat. I love this area and plan to hike it thoroughly within the next few months. Arrived at noon and it was still somewhat muddy on the actual trail with the runoff. On the way back down after the cabin it was basically dry again. I'm looking to hike this up to Pine Mountain soon and also there is another mtn by the cabin not sure what it is and doesn't look like any trails are there.

Fun hike and it really is a change from snowshoeing at high elevations. I miss that challenge but I forgot how the rocks and boulders are a constant problem!!!
