| no partners | | After taking a couple of weeks off I wanted to get out for an enjoyable morning hike. I've driven by the Ballantine trailhead and always said some day. Well today was the day. My day started around 6am and I was on my way soon after. I was cruising up the 87 and noticed a familiar face in my side view mirror. I got a better look and notice its Kyle and Rachel. We waved to each other as they passed. Anyways, I continued on and parked and was hiking.
The trail heads up from the get go. It was nice as I gained distance from the 87. The traffic hum can be annoying. The slow steady gain continues. After 3.5 miles I reached the four way junction. I turned left for the cabin. I thought I still had at least 1.5 miles to go but the cabin is a lot closer then that. I arrived at the cabin and had a look around. I've known about this for at least six years and was glad to finally see it in person. I had some lunch and then made my return. It was a good morning. |
