Mike and I headed out from the First Water lot over to the horse lot and then up past the corral. Followed First Water creek to the Hackberry trail through Garden Valley to Second Water trail. The turned around and did the Garden Valley loop. At the north end of Garden Valley we cut west to explore the hills (could be called 2538 hill I guess). Fantastic views and then suddenly we spied the window. Very accessible from the west. When we headed back to the trail sure enough it was visible from there. Also visible from the trail further west of the hill. It's always difficult describing this area as there are several trails in the First Water creek/Hackberry area most without a name.
It turned out to be a great day for hiking. |
