There was still a trickle of water going down the canyon in most places, a little more would have made it better but what can you do. The water was nice and cool and perfect being in the sun the entire time in the canyon. Every down climb and rappel is slippery so watch out if you ever do this one. Once we got down the top portion and thought we were done with anything else technical or nice as we rock hopped for an hour without much else going on, the bottom section narrows up, offers some nice pools with natural slides, and made the end of the trip worth it. We hiked out just after Garden Springs and found a faint trail which lead right to the Barnhardt Trail. Only had to go through one thorny bushy section which was a pleasant surprise for me. The only thing that went wrong today was not having ice cold beverages at the truck once we got done. That only made us stop for cold Hop Knot afterwards. |
