Douglas Provincial Park sits on the North shore of the Qu’Appelle Arm of Lake Diefenbaker. The Elbow Sand Dunes are in the Northern part of the park and are accessed by a park maintained trail from a parking area at the park entrance. A five mile loop trail winds its way through the rolling vegetation covered sand dunes and has a short branch that leads to the active sand dunes. The area is a haven for prairie wildlife, mule deer, coyotes and the odd moose may be seen along with many species of birds.
