The Park attendants advised hiking the ridge, but after driving all the way from Mesa we wanted to at least check out the creek to see if we could cross. We were the only hikers on the trail to the falls, we felt so lucky as other “posts” describe a “busy” trail. (may have had something to do with the first creek crossing, rain, sleet and snow) The creek running at a decent rate, and fair water over the falls allowed us to get some decent photos, but could have had some sun. Cold and wet we made it back to the parking area without anyone taking an inadvertent dip in the creek. Some of us had dry pants, shoes and socks for the drive back to Mesa, some didn’t. Heater in the car was turned up pretty well. |
