Parking at the North border fence line at Usery Park (just north of the Shooting range) we followed the fence line East for about 1/4 mile to the kiln. The kiln is no longer complete due to outside forces, however the general idea is still visible. From there we walked North-East toward a boulder field and came across numerous small limestone outcrops and one small “quarry” that may have fed the kiln.
Continuing North West we hooked up with one of the many paths in the area and made our way back South West to the TH, not before we happened upon a hive of bees in a Saguaro that gave us a bit of concern as we passed but fortunately no issues. |
