We wanted to try this all winter and although it was going to be warm we figured we would give it a shot. Parking at Water users John, Ken and I crossed the Salt and headed East. Got "cliffed out" on the south side pretty much right away so crossed the river again. A bit more East (once more across the river) and turned right into a wash coming in from the south west. Followed this wash most of the way up to the top of Gateway Canyon cutting off a bit of distance near the top as we cut toward "Precarious Arch" but the heat got to us and we headed for "Delicate Arch" and down the Canyon back to Water users Parking area. Good day of exercise with a couple of tough +70 year olds.
