wanted to revisit mount ord for a peak and a decent training hike
thought chances were good that i wouldn't get rained off or hit by lightning today
this might be my second longest hike for the year :o
that's just wrong
got going right around 7:30
nice steady ascent, with better footing once you reach the main forest road
the upper section also has pine trees and a breeze
reached the tower and rob invited me up
admired views of roosevelt, bartlett, the rim, four peaks, and the mazatzals
shortly after heading down, ran into wally - nice to meet you!
then about a mile from the bottom, ran into karl and kathy just setting out
cool to see some haz folks
peak #36 for the year, with a 2014 hazolution goal of 52 - not all of mine are official haz peaks
some storm clouds coming off the rim as i descended and drove home
this was one of the first hikes i did with johnlp
skipped little ord this time
