| no partners | | My first trip back to the Peralta TH since mid-April. It was a beautiful morning with temps in the mid-70's and a slight breeze. I hit the trail at 5:45 a.m. with a friend from work. It was supposed to be a few of us from work, but the rest didn't want to get up that early. I was okay with that since the planned hike was only to the saddle and back. I was hoping to go a bit further. Lucky for me, my hiking partner was eager to explore, so we extended the hike out to the famous pine tree then returned to the trailhead along the Cave and Bluff Springs trails.
Aside from great views and a beautiful morning, we came a across a tortoise. It was heading up the cave trail not far from the junction with Bluff Springs trail. Picture time.
It was warming up when we reached the trailhead at 9:00. This was a fun trip, and a reminder of how much I miss being out in the Superstitions. I can't wait for cooler weather when I can stay out there all day! |
