Took the day off work for a hike in the Superstitions. Originally wanted to do something longer, but I'd never done Peralta before so I figured this would be a good chance to avoid the crowds. There were about 10 other cars at the TH when I got there just before noon. Funny... This is only my 3rd time in the Superstitions, and all 3 times it's been overcast with light rain. I would be here a lot more often if it wasn't such a long drive for me.

I loved this trail. Awesome views pretty much the whole way. I knew this would be a good workout for me, but wasn't expecting some of the really steep sections. Had to take a couple breaks on the way up. The weather was nice but a little humid, so even though it was 70 degrees I was completely drenched in sweat. To be fair I'm pretty much always drenched in sweat. Didn't make great time because I was stopping a lot just to look around and take some photos.

Made it to the saddle and kept going to the lone pinyon. The view of Weavers Needle was awesome. Really a beautiful spot. I stayed there for a while and had a snack before turning back. Bit of a knee buster on the way down. Only saw a couple people going back, and only 10-15 all day. Most of them coming back as I was starting out. Unfortunately no wildlife today. I really want to come back to the Supes again after this hike.
