I found a snow chute I haven't been up before and headed up. It got real steep halfway up and again a lot of ice built up on the rocks made it for a tough climb. Once I got up the chute I traversed over to the northern ridge for the final trek up to the summit. Couldn't beat the view. Could no longer see Mt. Humphrey but saw smoke to the south that almost looked like it was coming out of Peak #3 if you were at the right angle up here. Stayed on top for awhile and watched some small planes fly overhead. Headed back down the northern side and found myself a new route to get back onto Brown's peak avoiding a lot of the bushwhacking I have done before in this area. My route led me to the eastern side of Brown's and that's how I got back up on top of Brown's Peak to head down. Great day in the snow on the Four Peaks. |
