| no partners | | i've always been intrigued by the dragoons because of:
the classic cochise stronghold hike
the rocks
nearby climbing
have driven by several times, finally making a visit to the area this past week
forecast promised clearing skies, but it still looked pretty dark over the mountain range
we decided to go up to the campground and see how it looked
nice campground, not a backcountry experience, but very pleasant
set up camp, explored the nature trail and the educational trail on thursday
hiked cochise stronghold trail on friday
broke camp and headed for phoenix saturday morning
warm enough temps
had a fire friday night
played scrabble, ate well and relaxed with a good friend
a mostly full moon lit things up pretty well
before it came out, enjoyed an amazing display of stars that you just don't get in phoenix |
