Although temperatures have been in the 80's in Phoenix I found a foot to a foot and a half of snow at about the 7000' level heading up towards Mazatzal Peak. Used a northern ridge off of the 7592 foot peak just east of Mazatzal peak to reach the backbone of the range. Saw a lot of deer sign and found a good area of unburned forest above about the 7000 foot level. Also discovered a large undocumented waterfall along the way. |
