Hiked from the "desert jungle" down a dirt road towards a section of Parker Canyon that is 4 miles downstream from the traditional section where many have started their canyoneering and rappelling adventures. I found a half mile long slotted section that was easy enough to navigate with just a couple of boulder scrambles and a waist deep pool that I stemmed across in an effort to stay "somewhat dry." Being only 40 degrees or so, I wasn't motivated to go any deeper than, well you know, the sensitive areas. Found a cool weeping wall that sounded like rain as I came around one of the bends. A very interesting alcove it was, with strange rock formations. |
