Beer doesn't usually last very long in my fridge but the one I drank today haz been there since February. I used it to toast John Scott who tragically died this year. I toasted John at the last place I saw him Dobie Wall and kept the same beer to toast him today. John and I climbed on Valentine's Day and a week later he died in a freak accident where a rock hit him after they were finished climbing.

For those who didn't know John, just search Johnr1 on HAZ and you will find a wealth of information. He is the kind of guy you really respect and want to emulate.

John was one of 4 John's that participated in this years New Years Day hike. The last line of his triplog reads: I am looking forward to next year.

Johnr1 will be with us in spirit tomorrow just as he was today.
