I mentioned Battleship to Joe and Ray last week and Ray's eyes got a little big. An invite to Dave and the group was formed. I also had some things I wanted to check out over by Yellow Peak.

Temps dropped to 41, 3 miles in, with a bit of a breeze, but warmed up perfectly after that. Once you make that initial climb on the Boulder Canyon Trail, you get some pretty expansive views of the Supes. I never get tired of the views from there.

We made pretty good time getting to the top of the Battleship, getting there by 10am. I just love it up there.
Joe waived the Flag, we ate snacks, and listened to the hecklers call from below. We met Wally, Denny and Stephen on our way down and yapped with them for a bit.

Once back to Boulder Canyon Ray split from us to head back to find something his wife had. Dave Joe, and I continued down the Bolder Canyon Trail taking a short cut to Black Mesa Trail. The Boulder Canyon Trail, between Battleship and Black Mesa Trail, are in dire need of a trimming. There are a few places where the trail has been total closed in with brush.

After some lunch on the Black Mesa Trail, we split up for a bit. Joe and Dave went to go bag the peak, and I made my way down the canyon to check some things out. I was only successful with 2 of the 6 things I was looking for. I might just have to return.

After we met back up, we made our way down the rest of the canyon. It was actually much nicer hiking in this canyon than expected with many smooth rock areas and many pools of water.

Thanks for the Hike gentlemen, another nice day in the Supes!
