| no partners | | I took a scenic route up Elephant Mountain including some hilltops along the way.
I was expecting to find a ruin on the first hill but what looked like walls in the satellite picture were not. There were a couple small clearings near the top but no pottery. I continued along to a much lower ridge and saw several likely looking rock alignments but was not convinced they were ruins till I found a couple pieces pottery. There were a few petroglyphs at the ridge edge just past the small ruins.
Since I was close and there were a couple other interesting looking shelves along the way I continued up the side of Elephant Mountain and took the ridge to the top. I saw a few other odd sherds but no other cultural signs. Pleasant and scenic up there though slow going avoiding the surface rocks and cacti. |
