We had tried to do this passage the day before, but due to wind and mis-reading the directions to the TH, we opted for Passage 5. Today, all the planets aligned and off we went. Came across a few bikers now and then, but much less so than on Passage 7. Quite impressed with the mauve and pink cactus along this passage. We enjoyed a nice break at the picnic area, filling up with water from the tap. Rincon Creek was flowing and we probably should have taken off our shoes and socks to cross, but forged ahead anyhow, making it a soggy trip out to the vehicle. Even though this is a longer day when you add on the spur from Hope Camp to the TH, the tread is good, the trail is easy to follow, making it a pretty easy day.
