| no partners | | Since I had finished Passage 6 by starting Passage 7, I only had about 10 +/- miles to go today. Rather than bushwacking back to the trail, I followed the road / wash around and intersected the trail right around the corner from where I had left off. Boy, was this easy walking! Flat, no rocks - GREAT tread! The only time I questioned where the trail was going was after I crossed the road. Double track headed the direction I wanted to go while the single track headed away from my intended direction. Got the map out and saw that I needed to swing out around and was back on track. This section had a lot of bikers and several hikers. Due to the openness of the vegetation, it was easy to see bikers coming and to step off and let them pass. Everyone was polite and friendly and I had a chance to visit with several people along the way. It was pretty cool walking under I-10, but I can see why horses have a different route. My daughter greeted me with signs the the TH! |
