| partners | | Bruce had a tiny smorgasboard of trails that I spent zero time analysing. Just the memory of a trip Preston took back in 2009 was enough to get me motivated.
Destination was my mindset. The never ending forest stunned throughout. The overlook is sweet. We surveyed a through hike over to Elephant Arch. Based on what I saw I think it's possible. On the same token what I'm willing to do and what's good for a group in August are two different things so we returned on the known route. A hike back through that wonderful forest sounded pretty relaxing too.
After the stroll across the top we lunched just before heading down. The breeze was fab at 76 degrees. Heading down seemed like a different hike. Loose rock and who turned on the furnace!
Not even 9 miles and I felt zapped clear of motivation to move on to our next hike. Since we didn't connect the dots, an out-n-back to Elephant Arch was up next. |
