Completed a short backpack / day hike combo with nonot and mikeinFHAZ in this general area.

Met nonot at the trailhead and headed in. We stashed and headed up for the day hike. Stopped at the tower meeting Wayne "Red" Johnson on lookout. After sourcing up some local area info we headed out on the off-trail exploring-portion of our loop. All went as "planned" and soon hooked up with the Reynolds Trail :whistle:

At which point we entered a lush pine/aspen forest. Soon after caught a glimpse of a nice big horn bull elk. Heading down to the again "planned" spring, nonot and I witnessed skills we never knew Mike had when he encountered an elk in the middle of the trail ...it was like, kinda like "Man vs. Wild". Soon after loading up on water we finished off the memorable portion of the hike, which was a "pleasant" 800 foot downslide in 0.4 mile.

Got lucky and met Grasshopper on the way-out at the trailhead. Unfortunately missing Randal, Kanode and perhaps other parties in the area.
