Started at 5:10pm looking to get in a coooool summer hike. That it was
The area is maybe 50 percent torched but many fabulous areas remain lightly touched. The lower aspen grove that made this place amazing is gone. It's recovering at the speed of light. The new aspens are well over six feet and floating in a sea of nose high ferns
Upper Marshall is more or less wiped out. There must be a god cause the lower area were Autumn screams glory is mostly intact!
Not much running water in the creek. It's was amazing to me there was any in June!
The weather was absolutely PERFECT! Aside from seeing some of the worlds largest mosquitoes I wasn't pestered by any bugs. More or less had the entire loop to myself... this has got to be one of the best late afternoon hikes in June hands down! |
