| no partners | | Off at 2:14pm and 41 degrees. I would do this hike a lot more often if it wasn't for the rather uneventful first mile or so through the forest. Warmed up a bit with the sunshine on the climb to the saddle and continued the 150 yards to the east past the junction. There is a nice little rock overhang here with good views to the north and east, as well as the actual peak. I snapped some photos, and after adding another layer and using socks for gloves, I continued on to the lookout point. Climbed up to the top of the rocks, but with the strong wind it was quite cold up there, so I took some photos then headed back down. Short break on the main overlook and time to head back. It was cold the last mile in the forest and I made it back to the car at 5:21pm. Only saw 11 people amongst 4 groups during the hike and nobody past the saddle or on the return. |
