| no partners | | A friend was visiting from out of state. He wanted to hike a portion of the Siphon Draw trail the day before he flew home. We hiked up to the Flatiron a few years ago, but he paid for it. This time we settled on just getting to the Basin. He paid for this shorter version, too, but suffered only some minor cramps a few hours later. He won't need physical therapy this time.
We started late, just before 9am, and finished around noon. My friend was a little overheated at the end. He kept ignoring me when I would tell him to drink often.
We crossed paths with @Daytripper on his way down. @JuanJaimeiii was heading up to check out the fire damage while we were chilling next to the dry Siphon Draw falls. We saw maybe a dozen other hikers during our hike.
We stopped for lunch and refreshments at the Hitching Post on the way home. We had the special: thinly sliced prime rib on a hoagie roll. Yum! |
