Went for a quick jaunt around Black Mesa Loop this afternoon. Three female hikers with dogs told me they saw a Mountain Lion close in somewhere along trail 236, I never encounter it myself. I do this hike in the clockwise direction which seems opposite to how most others do it. I feel the views are nicer that way. Lots of running water in the washes, encountered quite a few campers at the intersection of 104 & 241, some with big huge tents that even had stove pipes coming out of them, that's a long trip with stuff that heavy!! Met a couple that hike and backpack 100% of the time, they started in Vermont and recently came thru Colorado, I'm sorry I didn't invite them over for a hot shower and warm meal, didn't think of it until later....
