The intent was to start early but I slept in. I started hiking at 9am but the cloud cover was good. There was a lot of water along the way. About half way across Black Mesa trail I saw what looked like watermelon sprouts. Maybe someone spit seeds on the trail. The sunshine was out with about 4 miles left so it warmed up a bit. There was still one truck in the lot when I left. There were other vehicles but I didn't see any other hikers.
