I had tentatively had Peak 2178 on our route for our Horns of Dilemma loop hike on Sunday, but at the time Tracey expressed VERY little interest in stretching out the already fox-tail laden hike. But seeing some of the peaks I traversed 25 months ago when I last visited Peak 2178, I knew I had to return soon.

And what better time to do so than a relatively cool day among this stretch of abnormally high temps. So off I went.

For those who may not enjoy all them pesky words, I'll the photos tell the story. Besides, if a picture is worth a thousand words this could easily surpass a 75,000 word novel... even though I whittled it down from over a hundred photos.

The one highlight was a turkey vulture basking in the morning sun. Unfortunately the moment I started a video it pulled its wings in.
