Although I had originally planned five separate peaks today, by now it was plenty warm, and the last one would be by far the toughest, so I decided this would be the last one of the day.
Parked right along Apache Trail this should have been a lot easier... if only I knew the route of the fence line. From where I parked it was running north-south pretty much parallel to the road, so naturally I thought if I crossed the cattle guard I could walk right around to the other side. So I did.
But not far and what happens but the fence does a 90 degree left turn, and by as much as I can see at the moment, I'll need to be on the north side of the fence. After following the fence for a while I found so-far the best option to cross it. It work out until my hand slipped and the barbed wire hooked into my pant-leg. Thankfully not into my leg, but my pants didn't fare quite as well.
Oh well, let's move on... just far enough until I can now see the fence begin to swing toward the north.

This time I waited it out long enough to find a spot with deep enough erosion I could slide right under. Now it's a short jaunt to the summit. Wow! Great views!
A quick video and pan photos and I'm on my way home on Apache Trail. Lots of vehicles heading north, but thankfully not too may south-bound and every slow one was kind enough to pull over to let me pass... until Tortilla Flat, then it's a slow 20-25 mph slog all the way to Vista View near AJ. Oh well, I wasn't in a hurry. And as you can see, I'm finally getting around to post the triplog three days later.
