| no partners | | Didn't see this route when I started. This is a top 10 hike for me.
The altitude was tough, but it was a rewarding climbing. This is the only hike I am aware of where you can climb four 14,000 foot peaks in one day.
You start hiking up to Mt. Democrat, then you hike along the ridge line to Mt Cameron and Mt. Lincoln. This is a common turn around point and the end of the line for people looking to follow the rules. Mt. Bross is on private property. If you are willing to hike a few more miles, Mt. Bross is on private property and the climb there isn't to bad. The climb down from Bross was through a scree field and was a little sketchy. It was my least favorite part of the hike. If I could do it again I would back track and extra few miles to avoid the scree field. All in all it is a very rewarding and beautiful hike. |
