Tougher hike than I thought. Very scenic and steep at times.

There was a lot of scrambling and loose rocks to get to the top. Several dangerous cliffs we had to navigate around.

I was surprised there was a red mailbox filled with all sorts of stuff and a bench on top of picketpost mountain. I enjoyed the view from the bench roughly 2,000 feet up from the trailhead.

The trail head was easy to reach, only 50 miles outside of Phoenix.
