| no partners | | I can't believe it took me so long to check out this cool little wilderness area and fun little peak. I thought the hike was great, the peak had some worthy views and you couldn't ask for much better of a trail.
We got a pretty early start and only shared the trailhead with two other vehicles when we started. Its a nice climb to the peak, but it seems to be offset by the great trail and nearly perfect grade in my opinion. There were some pretty good clouds moving in by the time we reached the summit so we did not stay long, but we made it down dry and no real inclement weather developed while we were there. As one might expect from the paw rating, the trail was very dog friendly and we rand into several fans of dogs on the way down. A little more busy on the way down, but nothing like what one generally sees on some of the other hikes in the Flagstaff area. I only wonder, how much nicer it all was before the fire? |
