Plan was to hike the Pumpkin trail up to Kendrick peak, but the NF website said the road to the Pumpkin trailhead was closed. So, we just did it from the Kendrick trailhead. Mid 40's when we started and upper 70's when we finished. Beautiful wildflowers lined the trail. Volunteer Fire Ranger in the Tower provided some exceptional insight into the history of the Kendrick fire tower as well as the program within the NFS. I was hiking a little too close to the edge on the way back down and received some pretty serious trail rash on my leg. Wifey is taking excellent care of me!
