| partners | | Plan B since the weather spooked us for Plan A. Plan B turned out to be quite nice however and I finally got in a long hike which I haven't done for over a month. And of course, it's always a treat when Wade and Mary Jo can come out and play too. Kelly actually did a bang up job on the trip report [ photoset ] and surprisingly I have little to add.
Kelly set the pace  and the Mays did their best to keep up so she had someone to talk to  . I'm sure she was glad of that otherwise she has to hang back with me now and then  .
The trail is in great shape; coming in and out of shade was helpful altho the last couple miles to the Highway it was actually a tad nippy. It was humid this day. It was great fun to have a small lunch break at the lake. I felt stronger on the hike back from there altho my hip flexors are giving me difficulty in the "pain" department. Not enough long hiking I guess.
The snake was entertaining and I hope you get a chance to watch my "Jaws" video https://youtu.be/8t ... uDrk. I was surprised the Jaws music wasn't copyrighted. Speaking of Jaws I about got run down by a bike. You can hear something screeching in the video as he came around the corner behind me. I think the four of us tried to be as gracious as possible stepping off the trail for bike riders to pass but sometimes, these little incidents are going to happen.
Saw a trio of acorn woodpeckers at the same time, each on their own tree.
Oh, HAZel kept wanting the break to be over before it was over; she would say "Break's over" as she thot I started walking. The other three found that amusing; especially if I was taking pictures .
Nice day with good company that was topped off by tapas (thx to the Mays) and a kiln. Thx Wade for driving!

Autumn Foliage Observation Isolated
Too early to call this autumn flowers but once I edited my photos I realized there were quite a few flowers and a few mushrooms here and there. |
