It's 67 miles long, but only 4 miles wide at its widest point. Unlike Lake Mead and Lake Havasu, it has no cities or towns along its shoreline. The border between Nevada and Arizona goes down the middle of the lake, but I stayed on the AZ side the whole time.
Since it's part of the Colorado River, and I have the goal of paddling or floating the whole river, from Lake Powell on down to the Mexican border, I am working on Lake Mohave in sections. So, this is one short section. I did a down-and-back since I was solo, no shuttle available. Later this month, weather permitting, I'm hoping to do a two or three-day trip on the lake, from Carp Cove to Princess Cove. After the New Year will finish it off with another 3-day trip from Willow Beach to Carp Cove. Next I'll be wanting to paddle Lake Mead. I have already paddled the river and its lakes from Davis Dam (Bullhead City/Laughlin) to I-8 in Yuma. Just filling in some sections.
My camera setting was incorrect, making for some washed out photos, which I dinked around with, trying to make them look "artsy" without a lot of success. (I didn't notice I had bumped the dial to the wrong setting.) |

| | The lake was low in November, as it always is, but in December they start filling it again, and it has come up over 5 feet since early November. This makes landing a kayak more pleasant. When the lake is low there is a lot of muck on the beaches. | | _____________________
