| no partners | | Not the day planned, but in many ways, a great day out! Plnned: Bishops Cap Cut. Too wet (dangerous) and Ross and Mary more in the mood for an easier hit. So... hiked up T106, then I diverted off for my sixth search and rescue of the mystery rock (left there a few years ago... for some odd reason!?)
Rejoined group after searching first ridge... Ross headed down and out. Mary and I walked back on to 2nd ridge with me recounting the specifics of my memory of the day when I abandoned the rock. Oddly, that allowed us to walk right over to it! It is now safely home!
I mentioned to Mary a cut that I wanted to check out for the last few years... an obvious bit of bedrock minor drainage than showed some potential. Beautiful day out... so, we headed over and dropped in. It proved to be a delight... all the way down and out. It is oriented just north of Lawson Springs... so, Lawson Steppes! It is ideal for an introduction to Canyoneering. It's going on the February calendar.
Now... another wet weekend headed our way... oh, well! |
