I took a side trip to Bellota Ranch and then reconnected up with the Arizona Trail where I continues East for a mile where I had enough for the day and returned. On the return trip I took the Arizona Trail at what is Called "The Lake" instead of going through Bellota Ranch. This is for the most part a dry trail except in winter months or monsoons after wet weather. There is water along the trail if absolutely necessary in some of the tanks but it wasn't very good looking. Trail is easy to follow and well maintained. The grave marker for Blas Valdez is just that a marker, he is actually buried in Cascabel cemetery along the San Pedro River (Internet had information on this). |
