| no partners | | | Another one of those trails I zip by on the way up to Mount Lemmon. Decided it was time to see what it has to offer. Not a terribly exciting trail but does have views of Bear canyon and the Catalina Highway going up to Windy Point that can't be seen anywhere else. The trail down to the upper trail head in bear canyon is very steep, hard going down and even harder going up. Not really a trail goes straight up the hill to the ridge. There is a spur trail that leads from the Bug Spring upper trail head to the Green Mountain Trail Head. I thought I would check out this trail because the last time I hiked up Green Mountain I Parked in the Camping area and they said you were not allowed to park there unless you pay the fee for camping. So if you are going up Green Mountain you are suppose to Park at the Bug Spring Trail Head. Nice hike but I don't see myself doing this one again, but if you haven't done it its worth doing at least once. |
